How can you get a moving billboard to advertise your company AND its charitable generosity throughout your state? Through the sponsorship of a sunshine coach. Your company can get on the bus for Variety and the kids. Variety's new look Sunshine Coaches are in demand and raring to go. For an outlay of around $15,000 - $50,000 depending on the state and the coach type you will have a coach branded with your company logo transporting kids into the sunshine for up to ten years. Variety brings sunshine to the lives of thousands of needy children through our Sunshine Coaches. Special Schools and other organisations have been the grateful recipients of a fleet of 1,052 coaches travelling Australia, transporting children to their daily activities and other special life experiences. In 2006, Variety invested $1.8 million to grant 39 Sunshine Coaches to children’s institutions nationally. In most cases, the children's organisation will contribute one third of the on-road costs, Variety one third and a sponsor is sought for the final third. In cases of extreme hardship Variety will contribute more than one third. We also purchase the coaches very competitively which in turn means that more organisations can benefit.
With your help, we will achieve our aim of placing at least 40 new coaches per year on the road for special kids. Variety Freedom Program
By sponsoring a wheelchair for a child in need you can make a difference and see the tangible benefits of your generosity.
Variety helps hundreds of kids every year gain mobility and an extent of freedom, independence and of course the chance to join in with other kids in the community. Wheelchairs can cost from $1000 for a standard manual chair and up to $20,000 for a fully motorised wheelchair. Seating systems are individually designed to cater for the condition of each child, ensuring that there is room for them to grow and that their posture and health is protected. In 2007 Variety granted 199 wheelchairs and a total of $4.3 million in mobility equipment, communicaiton devices and life enhancing experiances. Variety Liberty Swing Program
Sponsoring a Variety Liberty Swing will immortalise your company’s name and give it wonderful association.
For those in a wheelchair, the simple pleasure of swinging through the air was never an option until Wayne Devine invented his Wheelchair Swing. The Liberty Swing is a revolutionary design in play equipment for people with disabilities which allow children in wheelchairs the opportunity to enjoy the fun and recreation of swinging. Variety champions this wonderful invention and aims to get these swings into as many communities as possible. Complete Sponsorship of a liberty swing costs $23,500 and you will receive joint naming rights with Variety and signage on the swing and fence. You (and your company) can attend the presentation of the swing and see first hand the amazing results of your generosity.
Variety has committed to deliver 30 swings each year for the next ten years to special needs children and their communities. Variety Future Kids Program
Would you like to see your donation help educate a child, nurture their talents and help them achieve their future potential? Children are our future and with the Variety Future Kids Program we help kids with disabilities achieve more and fulfil their academic potential. Over the past two years Variety has granted computers to children with special needs, allowing them to enjoy learning and achieving on par with their classmates. We also help with sporting trips, musical equipment and therapy and anything else that might help kids with disabilities improve their potential to be educated. In 2006 we provided $4.2 million to special needs and disadvantaged schools around the country, funding books, educational and play equipment, school camps and educational outings and other urgently needed equipment. Sponsorships from $250 for an academic trip to $10,000 for a multi sensory music room can make a huge difference and transform a child’s life. Variety Children’s Intensive Care Program
Variety proudly supports all children's hospital in Australia. In 2006, Variety provided $1.1 million in equipment such as neonatal monitors, prosthetic limbs and humidicribs.
You can help by buying specific equipment through Variety for anything from $1,000 - $100,000. Major grants have included $800,000 to the Flinders Medical Centre SA for an urgently needed upgrade of the paediatric ward, $150,000 to the John Hunter Hospital in NSW for a wonderful Fairy Sparkle magic garden for seriously ill children and their families, $65,000 to the Myo-Electric Limb Clinic, Westmead, to name a few. Because Variety pays for the purchase of equipment, we are 100% sure that every dollar we provide goes where it's most needed. Variety Show of Hearts Scholarship Fund
Give a child a helping hand to nurture their talents and achieve their aspirations. In 2006 Variety launched a very special new program for children - the Variety Show of Hearts Scholarship Fund. $250,000 per annum has been made available for children with special needs across the country, supporting them in fulfilling their talents and achieving their life goals… whether their dream lies in music, arts, sport, or education. You can help by sponsoring sporting equipment, tuition or musical instruments and costs range from $500 upwards.
