Bruce Newey founded the Neway Group of Companies and the Premier Group in 1985 providing a high quality transport and distribution service to the specialised requirements of high technology manufacturers and distributors.  Bruce is the current Board Chairman of this national organisation employing 300 people.  His community involvement includes Founder and Chair of The King’s School Art Prize (10 years), Executive Committee Member Landcare Australia and President of Auburn/Lidcombe Business Club (three years).

In 2002, Bruce joined the NSW Variety Bash as a Crew Member and now has completed seven NSW Bash Events raising funds in excess of $350,000.00.  His commitment and support to Variety, the Children’s Charity (NSW) continued as a Member (Barker) from 2003 and as a Crew Member in 2005/06 attending every meeting and most functions during this two year period.  Bruce was re-elected as a Crew Member for the 2008/2009 period, appointed Company Secretary in April 2008 and joined the Motor Events Committee continuing his tireless efforts rasing much needed funds for the special children of New South Wales.

As Chair of the Liberty Swing Committee in 2006, Bruce’s passion and commitment to ensuring a better quality of life for special children was realised, achieving the installation of 14 “Liberty Swings” throughout NSW giving the wonderful sensation of movement to wheelchair bound children and adults.  During his time as Committee Chair in 2006, Bruce strategically facilitated corporate assistance from the NSW Motor Accident Authority resulting in the installation of a further three swings during 2007.

Bruce, together with his wife Lynne, actively participate in various Variety activities including three 4 x 4 Challenges in 2006/07/08, the MIX 106.5 Variety Kids Radiothons and Variety Children’s Christmas Parties.

In November 2008, Bruce continued his active participation and dedication to Variety, the Children’s Charily (NSW) by being elected as Deputy Chief  Barker,  in conjunction with his multiple roles as Company Secretary, a member of the Executive Committee and Motor Events Committee.
